In an effort to minimize structure we have created the open “drop in” gym times for a variety of age groups this year. As you probably know, most of the gym hours during the afternoon and evening are occupied by Park and Recreation classes, leagues and some evenings are used by community sports groups. The fee schedule for the open drop in gym times is listed below. The youth open times for middle school students and high school students are for the kids to
play what they want with their friends under minimal supervision. Family gym time is free but parents must be here to play with their children.
Free Family time was very popular last year and we are leaving two “free family open gym times” for families again this fall on Saturdays and Sundays. The Saturday middle school / high school time is in combination with family time. Basically if you come “to play with” your child it is free. If you drop them off they will need a pass or pay the daily fee. A variety of equipment will be available for children of any age and their parents to play together indoors. Throw a Frisbee, kick a soccer ball, or shoot hoops with either real basketballs or their pre-school equivalent.

All participants in open gym programs are expected to conduct themselves in a cordial, respectful and non violent manner. The town will not be held responsible for any medical costs incurred by the participant. Should the site supervisor need to remove a participant for any reason, they will lose their open gym privileges. If children are left at the RCC after the designated ending time, a fee will be charged to cover the cost of supervision.
Open time is designed for people to come down and find people to play with and therefore organized teams are not permitted to use this time as practice.
