For the coming 2008-09 school year, it is entirely possible that we will only be able to accommodate Frequent Flyers at Extended Day. A “Frequent Flyer” is a child whose parents sign and adhere to a “Frequent Flyer Agreement”. This means a commitment to a regular 4 or 5 day schedule throughout the school year and a strict pre-payment schedule.
We will have devised a new registration process that gives priority to Frequent Flyers. Please read the following very carefully as everything is new!
In March, we will be holding 2 registration nights for 2008-09 Frequent Flyers in the Extended Day Room from 7:30 to 8:30. Special registration nights require a parent or parent’s representative to be present with all the appropriate paperwork and payments. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted.
First Priority Registration Night – Monday March 3 (snow date March 4)
1. Present or previous Frequent Flyers* (*we have the FF agreements on file)
2. Also 08-09 Frequent Flyer kindergarteners who are new to Extended Day.
Second Priority Registration Night – Monday March 10 (snow date March 11)
(Check the website first to see if openings still exist and/or a lottery is planned!)
1. New Frequent Flyers grades 1-4
Third Priority Registration – Monday, March 17 (snow date March 18
(Check the website first to see if openings still exist and/or a lottery is planned!)
1. Regular schedules 2 or 3 days consistently throughout the school year.
If openings exist, we will accept applications from families that want 2 or 3 days consistently throughout the school year. It will be necessary to know exactly which days of the week you need and a lottery is likely.
Fourth Priority Registration – Individual Days
Check the website on May 1 to see if other openings still exist after the first three priority registrations. This includes kindergarteners who need the 12:40 to 2:40 time slot.
Details will be available.
Please keep the following in mind:
• |
Registration is totally different from previous years |
• |
In many but not all cases we will be able to tell you on the spot if you got in |
• |
A lottery situation is likely at some level |
• |
There is a finite number of openings for all time slots |
• |
We will take waiting list as necessary. This does not cost you anything so please utilize this system so we can have an accurate accounting of the needs of the community. |
• |
All necessary forms will be available on line and at P&R before registration begins |
• |
Calendar forms will be available later in the Spring |
If you qualify for any Frequent Flyer early registration you’ll need to bring:
2. A check for $225.00
$25 registration fee per child
$200 deposit per child (This will be used for your June 2009 enrollment fees.)
Both fees are non-refundable.)
Once you are enrolled, all the requirements of the Frequent Flyer Agreement apply, including the following list. We prefer these items be delivered all together and in person in the Park and Recreation office. At this time we will give you those important yellow notes!
No later than August 15, you will need to provide the Park and Recreation office with a packet containing the following:
1. Behavior Agreement signed by both parent and child
2. September calendar and payment
3. Name of teacher and bus number on the September calendar
4. Full day kindergarten assignment, if applicable
5. Doctor’s orders and medication, if applicable.
All forms will be available in the Park and Rec office and on the website.
Be sure to get the forms labeled 2008-09 @townofreddingct.org.
